The Fear Is In Your Mindby Damon G. ZahariadesMost of the obstacles stopping you from having major success online are in your head. They have nothing to do with reality. If you're not having success with your online business, you need to ask yourself why! Are you afraid of failing? Are you afraid to buy a few dollars worth of traffic to your site because that traffic may not convert? Are you afraid to create a 7-day mini-course because people may not like it? (continued below...)
Listen. You need to get over your fear of failure. Whatever project you're working on (building a list, optimizing a site for Google, writing a Special Report to sell, etc.), get it done. Launch your project according to marketing principles that you ALREADY KNOW! Then, move on to your next project. If your project fails, either fix it or abandon it. If you write a Special Report that bombs, figure out why. Look at the market demand. Look at your writing style. Look at your marketing. There's always a reason for your project's success or failure. Either fix whatever is broken or kill it. Then, move on to your next project. You can't fear failure! If you "SEO" your site and you don't get great rankings in Google within six months, figure out why. Then, either fix it or abandon it. If you build a list and nobody reads your stuff, you're either boring, common or you haven't TRAINED them to read your stuff. Either fix the problem or abandon the project. You can't let fear of failure stop you from getting your projects off the ground! I've heard people say, "Well, I'm lazy. That's why I haven't finished that project." Maybe that's true. But, often, it's not. It's just another way of saying, "I can't get off my butt to finish my project because... well... what if I bomb?" Get used to failing. I fail a lot. So does every successful marketer I know. But, we succeed because we push away the fear and take action. Sometimes, it's tough. Do you think I don't fear failure? Let me tell you something. Every project I work on, I can hear that crippling thought in my head, "Man, this project's gonna go down in flames." I haven't launched a project yet that failed anywhere NEAR as badly as the demon in my head said it would. And like I said, I fail a lot. And here's the best thing about pushing the fear aside and taking action... The successes make up for the failures in spades! Bottom line... get used to failing. It's gonna happen. The important thing is that you don't let the FEAR of failing stop you. Finish the project you're working on. Launch it according to the marketing principles you already know. Track it. Does it succeed? Does it fail? Can it be fixed? (The answer to that last question is nearly ALWAYS yes.) I've never seen a project launched yet that couldn't be better. Perfect launches don't exist. Perfect projects don't exist. We all make mistakes. The trick is to find them and fix them. And in my experience, fixing mistakes is easy. So, get to work. Launch your project. Don't let the fear of failing stop you. Just get your project off the ground. Then, tweak it to make it better. Tweak it to make it more PROFITABLE! Do this over and over. At the end of the year, you'll be blown away by your success. That's it for now. See you next time! Damon G. Zahariades P.S. Success online is a matter of taking action. It's not about SEO know-how. It's not about creating the perfect sequence of e-mails. It's about learning the fundamentals and applying them over and over.
