Sausages, Segmenting And Youby Damon G. ZahariadesLet's say your audience is made up of folks who love sausages. They love to cook 'em. They love to eat 'em. But, your audience isn't necessarily interested in the same things. Some of them may want to know how to cook sausages for breakfast. Others may want sausage dessert recipes. You have a choice to make. (continued below...)
If you're lazy, you can simply pile everyone into the same list. Doesn't matter if Joe likes sausage shakes and Sally likes sausage cakes. They all get the same content from you. And the same offers. Or, you can do a little more work and segment your list into smaller, more targetted lists. That is, Joe only gets stuff about making sausage shakes and Sally only gets stuff about making sausage cakes. The great thing about segmenting your list into micro-targetted niche lists is that you can design content and offers just for those micro niches. If you keep giving your audience content and offers that don't get them excited, they'll stop responding to you. On the other hand, if you give them EXACTLY what they want, they'll start to look forward to your offers. That's it for now. See you next time! Damon G.
